Moving pretty slow on the posts this year… I envisioned myself coming out of the gates posting like a madman, all sorts of posts. Here we are on nine, ten and I am postless.

This is hilarious. There are Youtube videos and then there are videos that make Youtube, I don’t know what that means exactly, but this is hilarious, even if you are not a fan of Star Trek the Next Generation.

Someone took a scene from Star Trek and re-edited it with different words. As far as I can tell, they just matched the mouth movements up with other words but I do not know how they replaced the voices of the Star Trek cast and made it this funny. “I have a business installing styrofoam nuns…”

The Bourke Identity

Dooney & Bourke’s not-so-better half, Bourke, has been found guilty “of conspiring to pay bribes to government leaders in Azerbaijan in a 1998 oil deal.” Basically, Bourke has been living this crazy espionage-y, conspiracy-laden life with suitcases stuffed with money, shakedowns in government offices, and hiring mobsters for protection! Bourke not only schleps fancy party girl handbags, HE GETS DOWN LIKE AN EVIL DUDE IN A JAMES BOND MOVIE!

Of course no fashionista gives a crap about this illegal activity (although WWD ran a bit on it yesterday), especially since Bourke is set to remain chairman. I wonder – when he was gallavanting around, trying to rig an oil deal (rig a rig?), was he using the Hayden bag? In lipstick red?

Karen Mulder is the new Naomi Campbell

The “blonde with class” (from Vogue by way of The Telegraph) should be renamed the “blonde with sass” – one of my favorite models of the 90s, Karen Mulder has gone bananas! Again!

As any avid supermodel-watcher will tell you, Karen Mulder was bright, blonde, and buxom – and then she was drugged, depressed, and down & out. Now reports are stating that Mulder has been threatening her plastic surgeon to the point of arrest – the overwhelming released quote is as follows:

A police source says, “She was screaming and shouting about the operation and became extremely threatening. There were repeated calls to the female surgeon who was extremely scared. The suspect is being interviewed.”

But she is soooo good lookin’. Looks like it may be time to head back to the psychiatrisch ziekenhuis.

Kitty Purry Gets Fishy

So, word on the street is that the Slowtimers like fashion and beauty too, so I’m joining the ranks under the lovely name Meatball (my first word, btw) to bring forth the civilized society. The fashionistas. The it and the who and the what’s what. Or, rather, I just like to find tricked out shit and talk about it. Sometimes I’ll just write about burgers, but today, I’m talkin’ nails, girls.

So, on Katy Perry’s tumblr, she shows off her sushi-encrusted claws. I gotta say, I’m a major fan of this. I mean, strangely, I’m a major fan of Katy Perry (c’mon, her blog is Kitty Purry, that is adorable), and this is the deal-sealer. The whole getup can be viewed here.

I’m sure this makes some of you frown. But I know Myles is all ’bout it. Holla.

Today’s “Not” Special

So my mind is a cluttered ball of waste, as a child instead of being encouraged to read, I was plopped down in front of a television and left for dead. This may be the reason why i find a kindred spirit in Martin Tupper. (btw, all three seasons available on hulu.com, yay!) I have such a wasteland of random access imagery in my head its no wonder my life is in such disarray. Anyway, back to the point of my rant, I get these images of long forgotten tv shows in my head and thank goodness in this modern age I can look them up. One of them being a show I used to watch for some unknown reason called Today’s Special. Was it a racy rom-com show about twenty somethings working in a restaurant all day dealing with zany scenarios, peppered with a cast of wacky waiters and kooky regulars? No, it was a children’s show which took place in a shopping mall at night, where a puppet security guard locked up the mall and a nubian queen in a jumpsuit would take a mannaquin from the store window, bring it upstairs to the children’s department where a mouse with a merkin on its head would say the magic words transforming the mannequin into Carson Daly‘s older brother. Don’t believe me? check it:

Read the wiki on this effed up show, apparantly there was an episode that dealt with alcoholism but I dont think I ever saw that one on Nickelodeon.

So I made a horrible mistake earlier this week after listening to The Seeds and thinking it was an early incarnation of the Nick Cave scene. Well, it’s not. It’s just that I listened to this Spank Rock remix by Diplo and I came to like this thing with Federalist dude on keys and botox lyricist spiking his tambourine:

So that brought me to this weirdest party and then this weird scene-steal. Well, hello, Mr. Soul.
