So top-hat and I were talking one day about the IPhone App that I want to work on, and told him how I was broke and couldn’t afford the $99 dollars to pay for the Apple IPhone Developer Enrollment fee. He told me I should make a post on here and see if anyone would be interested in donating any money at all to my cause of creating a really great iPhone App.

I would tell you what the App did but then I might have to kill you. lol j/k. I actually will let you know what the app does if you decide to donate. Just ask top-hat, he will tell you its a killer app idea.

This post is really to see if there is any interest in people donating. I have asked a few other people and they said my offer seems pretty good, so here it is for you guys:

If you would like to donate money and help fund this worthy cause I would be able to return your investment 100 fold (with some stipulations). So if you donate $10 to the cause you have the “possibility” of getting $1000 back. This almost seems crazy right? This is what I mean by “possibly” or the stipulations.

The app has to succeed on the app store before anyone that invests can get a return. It also has to succeed to a point where I can allow myself to live and payout other people without putting myself in a hole. If it doesn’t succeed you would at least get your investment back.

So this is the deal $99 for enrollment fee plus I also need another $80 to register the domain name. Yes $80 for domain name due to the fact I am registering a *.fm domain name, (This .fm might give you a hint on what the application does.) which for some reason costs $80/year instead the normal $8/year.

So donate as much as you want and you will be logged as a “share” holder and make sure you get your return when I become rich.

If you are interested now in investing here is a PayPal donate button that will send me money directly.

Once you donate I will send you email to a URL where you can keep track of my progress on my app.

UPDATE: I removed the donate button. I got enough donations/investments now that I can get started with a small cushion even. So those who have donated so far thanks a bunch!!! If you haven’t donated yet and want to, I might open another round of donations when I get around to funds for promotions/advertising.

So I finally did it. Finally finished the thing that society accepts as you knowing something, school. I am finally done with it all. I never thought I would get to this point. After high school I just was over the whole school thing. It just wasn’t my cup of tea anymore. It didn’t help that I ended up in a private school that was more bureaucratic then the Vogons.

Though it was a long process of getting my degree done, I am finally there, and as celebration, I am giving you this new ableton dj set I put together. This is the longest mix I have ever put together and some of the most craziest mixes I have ever done. Some of the places are a little rough, but in general for something I played live with no editing its not that bad. Enjoy!

About a year ago, top-hat talked about how secondlife had taken his idea for a video game and created it. I remember him actual telling me this in person about four years ago, multiple times. Telling me how there was a eventually going to be a game where you could do ANYTHING, and by anything he ment ANYTHING (Did I emphasize anything enough?). You could run if you wanted, you could just sit there. This always seemed to much too me, I always kind of felt that video games needed a story or a goal to acomplish giving you something always to work for. In my eyes I don’t think secondlife has this, and hence have never been tempted to even bother to sign up. So I don’t think of secondlife as much of a video game but I do think it of a metaverse(even if its a pointless one).

I only think of it this way after reading doolittle’s previous post on “Stranger in a Strange Land” which reminded me of Neal Stephenson “Snow Crash”, which coined the term “metaverse”. I can’t wait for the day that Neal Stephenson’s vision of the future of the internet can be a reality. Allowing us to truly create creative house, cities, or even worlds that could never exist in real life.

But until then I think of computer programs like secondlife, WoW, and The Sims as our current version of the this future vision of computer programs and the internet. Now there is a whole other metaverse soon to be released. Will Wright’s, the creator of “The Sims” has a new game called, Spore. I seriously can’t wait to dive into this whole world, creating a creature from the primordial ooze of evolution, crawling your way onto ground conquering and expanding your species into the vast corners of the world and eventually other galaxies.

This is one metaverse I will soon be emersed in. I already spent some time creating a creature in their pre-release creature creator.

So talking to sleepy blair last night about me needing to post more. I got up this morning thinking. Shit, why not post something on to this thing since I am sitting here bored out of my mind and procrastinating doing school work.

Since there has been a huge resurgence of 80s culture in the past few years (I’m waiting for the 90s to kick in, even though I don’t think it will be as big) a lot of design, art and various other stuff has been using references from that decade. This motion graphics piece that was done for Justice‘s DVNO song directed by So Me’s and a little help of motion-design from Machinemolle. They created a melting pot of 80s intro videos to the lyrics of the song. One of the best motion graphics/design pieces I have seen in a while.

Also speaking of best of in a while, I was browsing through thefwa.com (best place to find some of the greatest flash sites around these days) Coke Zero has come up with a awesome concept and engaging site to advertise coke zero. Now even though the coke zero placements are kind to “advertising”, it was really nicely produced and I spent about 30-60 minutes on the site. Thats good for me, since I usually only spend like 2-3 minutes on a site.

PS. On a side note, these guys here at slowtimer keep telling me to record another mix. I really haven’t had the time to sit down and record something, but soon that will be possible. So expect a mix of glitched out dubbed banger breaks to hit this site soon.

So I finally have got around to making a dang post. Yes this took me forever to get to. I have been way to busy with work and need some time off. Anyways, I have been catching a lot of this whole Daft Punk craze that has been happening lately. What is funny to me is they have been around for how long now? like 11-12 years now? plus they had other aliases before they even were Daft Punk. Its definitely a sign that electronic/dance music is becoming bigger then it has ever been in the past. All of a sudden they have had a second resurgence in the dance community, and from it have come many djs/bands/producers who are inspired by their “robot rock” sound. I was listening to these back in high school and have revisted them many times. So some cool links i found this week to find out more about Daft Punks history and how they do things.

They live setup and how they do things can be found HERE. (I was amazed that they use Ableton Live)

Here you can find a live set they just did out of NY HERE.
