So one of my favorite bands in the world is The Slackers. They are a spectacular New York City ska band. Their new album, “The Great Rocksteady Swindle” was just released last Tuesday. I recommend everyone bust open their wallets and spend the $10 for this gem. Here is a preview track available from youtube:
One of my favorites from the album is definitely the dub-remix of “Ain’t No Sunshine.” This track alone was almost worth the $10 for the album.
Also, David Byrne and Fatboy Slim put out a new album, “Here Lies Love.” My buddy Matt turned me on to its release a couple weeks ago, and I have to say I’m very impressed. This is good walking around town music.
Finally, I also grabbed Major Lazer, Guns Don’t Kill People … Lazers Do.
In conclusion, if you buy any album this month/year/decade go with the Slackers. If you are feeling adventurous, or have access to a good torrent client , go ahead and grab all three.

So, on my drive home last night, I heard a radio ad for this website. Apparently, it’s the best way to find older women, and single mothers who are looking for a romantic tryst with a younger man. This is the most ridiculous thing I found over the weekend by a long shot.
Check out the commercial here. Also, if anyone decides to pursue a cougar (or a “Boy Toy”) after reading this please be sure to share your experiences.
Enjoy.

Well, I have a little personal tradition on Wednesday. I call it Weensday, and I attempt to drink beer and listen to Ween.
Tomorrow’s Weensday is especially important because I am embarking on my 3rd annual trip to my favorite city, New Orleans. I am going to rage like a Slowtimer should, eat good food, and attempt to remember more than 50% of my trip.
In celebration of this glorious day, I have carefully constructed a Weensday Playlist. I thought I would share it with you in the hopes that you will construct a similar playlist and celebrate with me…

While browsing through the interwebs lately, I came across two interesting websites. Both of them use the same medium, photography, but the results couldn’t be more different.
First off, Found Functions from Nikki Grazziano. This is one of the most interesting things I have seen in a while. The basic premise is taking photographs of everyday objects, i.e. a landscape, and finding mathematical functions that define the shape of the objects pictured. It is a great combination of the beauty of nature, and the beauty of mathematics.
As an aside, I also stumbled across this website. I don’t know what good can come out of knowing that 1035 is deficient, but I am convinced some day this site will save my life.
OK, so the second site I wanted to share is called stolen moments. This one is all about the wanna-be voyeur in all of us. Yasmine Chatila essentially spies on people, photographs/records them through their windows, and then combines the images with photographs of other windows in NYC. It is definitely interesting, but I also started closing my blinds a lot more after the first time I saw it.
Other than that, it’s been a while, so I figured I would share some random things:
Through March 8, 2010 Dunkin Donuts wants you to create a new donut. Even if I don’t win, it’s a fun site.
Finally, move over beach volleyball, curling is the now the sexiest Olympic Sport. (Sexist joke about women sweeping omitted, please feel free to add in the comments section).
Until next time…
