Deadbus v. Radiohead
I understand that Radiohead was a much more artsy version of Deadbus in the mid-90s, but I’m willing to bet a lot more Deadbus fans had a lot more fun in the late 90s than Radiohead fans did. On a one to Dokken scale, I think Deadbus fans had a lot more fun. Radiohead fans listened to a lot more radio and got a lot less head. And Deadbus fans probably learned how to weld or something. All jokes aside, Deadbus sounds a lot like bands I love, like Brian Jonestown Massacre, My Bloody Valentine, Alice in Chains, and Smashing Pumpkins on REDs (rock enhancing drugs). Maybe I’m wiggin, but Deadbus sounds good to me.
I know they’re called Deftones. But I’m wishing they called themselves Deadbus and promoted themselves better. Deadbus is a way better name.
Take, for instance, this revisionist video. I would put 70% of the non-wack stills from this video on the side of my theoretical van. It’s the perfect combo of creepy and sweet. Nobody got famous during this video.

Ive always liked this song. It reminds me of an old roommate (justin c.) who used to constantly alternate between this and Tool.
To my ears, its essentially white people music. I think it makes white people feel goth and mysterious. And also like they have super powers like telekinesis or, if provoked, could shoot lazers from their arms.
At least thats why I like it.
