Jeremiah: The Crappiest Show I Ever Loved
I was perusing the online Netflix catalog when I came upon a show that I had to at least see the first episode of. The Netflix description reads:
Based on the graphic novels by Hermann Huppen, this sci-fi epic stars Luke Perry and Malcolm-Jamal Warner as survivors of a deadly virus that, two decades ago, killed everyone but the young. In a world ruled by anarchy and danger, Jeremiah (Perry) is in search of Valhalla, a place that his father told him held hope for the survivors. As a new leader, Jeremiah faces warring groups of survivors who are hoping for peace, but desperate just to live.
Theo was annoying. Dillon was a douchebag. Fuck em both, but by some rather amazing turn of events I love Jeremiah. I’m a sucker for post-apocalyptic epics, and for some reason am continuously intrigued by low budget shit. I mean, come on, look at these sets, they’re cardboard and sheet metal. Seriously. Anywho, the series stars Luke Perry as a foreheaded drifter, with a sense of justice and the American way. My favorite episode so far is the one guest-starring Jason “Calender Girl” Priestly as the antichrist who blows up towns for fun, he plays it off well, I was impressed with his utter creepiness. And as far as Malcolm Jamal Warner is concerned, there was nowhere to go but up, although the tongue ring confuses me. I found this show cuz I’m running out of shit to watch on netflix online, I fucking love it. TV is totally gonna get replaced with computers man! Computers Everywhere just processing, making that humming noise. They need to fix that noise man. Jeremiah is like The Stand but on a lower budget. I give it five stars.
P.S. The first episode guest stars two actors from BSG, but I’m not telling which ones.
