I live in an apartment. I love apartments, (housing crisis, what housing crisis?) and I also love racial humor, so I may be the target audience for this super fun television spot by the Ad Council. This guy is great; he must be a popular guy out on the golf course.

My newsest post, is about the Post. First off it’s friggin 50 cents, is way more indepth and hard hitting than your “People’s” or “Us Weekly’s” and there is something about newsprint between your greezy fingers that makes you think you aren’t reading trash, so go pick up your copy today. Anyhoo, I picked it up at the deli the other day and guess who was on the cover? Carla Bruni. I mean, where have I been? This is what France is dealing with? Lucky. She is an ex-model, and ever since Sleepy’s post, I figured I should keep up with international spot lights and whatnots. Oh she was in New York recently helping the illiterates and women who are having a tough time or something.

I was in New Jersey a few weeks ago, and my mom whipped out some sick verse I wrote when I was 11 or 12. I thought I would share it with the world:
The Podiatrists Nightmare
I awoke when the night was clear
From a dream that filled me with fear
Springing from my bed
Sweat pouring down my head
Visions still in my brain
Of excrutiating pain
In a dark torture room
With a man, I don’t know whom
In the dream I lost my feet
The mystery man
He used them for meat
He ate them right in front of my face
I just had stubs in their place
My aunt’s and uncle’s thought I was sick
I began to think, “I’m a lunatic”
But the dream made me see
How much my feet mean to me.
I would also like to take the time to publicly thank, Andrew Tophat for turning me on to Lynda.com and Eliza Doolittle for recommending Stranger in a Strange Land and allowing me to continue my streak of reading science fiction non stop.
Also, This is quite possible the best website ever. Full episodes of The A-Team, Doogie Howser, MD, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for free.
What’s that smell like? (Incredibly obscene, but fuckin’ hilarious if you haven’t seen it). Nick Veaseyis awesome. This is my new favorite blog.
Finally, I was a finance major in college, and even though my job consists of little more than data entry, I still follow what is going on in the world. I am not going to do a whole post on this because I think it is against the spirit of this site. So, I will just say the following two things. First, I cannot figure out for the life of me why “nationalization” or “expropriation” are not the buzz-word of the month. Second, I know it is a tough time for a lot of people, but I am sick of communists thinking they can save the world, and people not being held accountable for mistakes they made.

Last week the the financial security of the world economy was given a good “never-shake-a-baby” kind of shake. As a result thousands of high maintenance live-in girlfriends/aspiring socialites, and kept women were in a state of panic as the icy realization of their future began to take shape in their minds–shop girl! Additionally, many who had counted themselves among the super-wealthy were stunned to find that they were now only wealthy or just upper-middle class.
Meanwhile, despite panic in the strength and stability of the US economy, I still have $57.
Below is a recipe for my new favorite meal that will fill your belly with good cheer at a minimal cost.
Porkolt – serves 4
2lbs Any meat (I have only used beef), cubed
3-4 big onions, finely chopped
oil
3-4 T good quality sweet Hungarian paprika
salt/pepper to taste
1 green pepper (a spicy one, not a bell pepper), sliced
1 good quality tomato, whole
Heat oil. Add onions and cook until translucent. Remove from heat and add paprika, stirring until mixed in. Return to heat and add meat. Cover with onions. Add enough water to nearly cover meat/onions. Add pepper and whole tomato (remove tomato before serving). Salt/pepper to taste. Simmer mixture, covered, for 1.5 hours. Add water as necessary to prevent burning. Remove lid and reduce to desired thickness. Serve over boiled potatoes.
I would imagine that mushrooms could be substituted for the beef for a vegetarian version. I would cook the mushrooms first, allowing them to become crispy and golden brown.
